When you create a VM instance, it is automatically assigned an ephemeral external IP address. If you don’t want an ephemeral external IP address, you can explicitly assign a static external IP address to the instance instead.<\/p>\n\n

    In the GCP Console, go to the VM Instances<\/strong> page.<\/p><\/li>\n\n

  2. \n\n

    Click Create instance<\/strong>.<\/p><\/li>\n\n

  3. \n\n

    On the Create a new instance<\/strong> page, fill in the properties for your instance.<\/p><\/li>\n\n

  4. \n\n

    Expand the Management, security, disks, networking, sole tenancy<\/strong> section.<\/p><\/li>\n\n

  5. \n\n

    Click Networking<\/strong>.<\/p><\/li>\n\n

  6. \n\n

    Under Network interfaces<\/strong>, click on the default network interface to edit it.<\/p><\/li>\n\n

  7. \n\n

    Under the External IP<\/strong> section, select the static external IP address that you reserved from the drop-down menu.<\/p><\/li>\n\n

  8. \n\n

    Click Done<\/strong> to finish modifying the default network interface.<\/p><\/li>\n\n

  9. \n\n
